Burberry
Thomas Burberry was the one who wrote the first chapter in the history of Burberry. It was his passion for tailoring and his awareness of the mild British climate that led him to found Burberry & Sons in 1856 in the south of England. Thomas Burberry focused on the quality of the materials and the solidity of the stitching. In the 1920s Burberry introduced the tartan motif, characterized by a cream-coloured base on which black, white and red lines are intertwined to form squares. Today, the Burberry tartan is one of the brand's most recognizable and distinctive symbols and is used in a variety of clothing and accessories, helping to cement the brand's distinctiveness and heritage.
